Sister Kim Kessler, former pantry coordinator at the Drueding Center is a long-time supporter of the Coalition. She became involved in the anti hunger movement between 2013-2014 when she worked with the Coalition Against Hunger to establish the Drueding’s Green Light Food Pantry.
How long have you worked with the Coalition?
Deanna Marshall, like other Philadelphia fridge coordinators, established her community fridge to help her neighbors in East Falls who are fighting hunger. The former school teacher connected with other fridges to learn how she could help fight hunger!
What inspired the East Falls Community Fridge?
Food pantry partner, #hungerfighter and long-time advocate of child nutrition, Lorraine Beaton of Harambe Baptist Church has joined us as we continue to Build a Movement to End Hunger! Mrs. Beaton wears many hats as Coalition VIP Project member and coordinator of her church food pantry operation. The nutritional health of those in her community, especially children inspire her to actively work to connect families to the food they deserve!
In recognition of National Nutrition Month, we would like to share highlights from a recent interview we had with Jeanne Reiche, the Director of Development and Communications at Face to Face Germantown. As you will see below, after many years of practicing in a clinical setting as a registered dietitian (RD), Jeanne is now using the skills and training she acquired to support and grow this vital program.
