Now that you are no longer in denial about the hunger in our midst, one of your first action steps can be to let others in on your revelation – especially elected officials.  Each City Soup participant will be most impacted by a different fact, story, or prayer.  Please take a few minutes to write a note to several elected officials (click here for their Contact info) and share with them what brought you out of denial. 

As always, sample language is included below, but you are encouraged to make these letters your own.

After studying the issue of hunger in the Philadelphia region for the past few weeks, I can no longer accept the level of denial that most Americans (and most elected officials) are in on this issue.  Hunger and poor nutrition has resulted in nothing less than a Public Health Crisis.  We need a comprehensive plan.  A plan for Philadelphia, a plan for Pennsylvania, and a plan for the entire United States.  The status quo is unacceptable.
