Outreach

The Coalition reaches out to our community in several ways. It listens to, supports, and brings together the dedicated emergency food workers of Philadelphia in an effort to strengthen the collective knowledge base as well as the emergency food program as a whole. The Coalition also reaches individual citizens one by one through dedicated staff members who spend their time in the community, spreading the word about food stamps, breaking down myths and misconceptions, and understanding barriers while helping people overcome them. Although dedicated, the coalition's staff members couldn't do it alone and so they train volunteers to do the same outreach, thus having a multiplicative effect in the number of people the Coalition can reach.
