Our Work

At the Coalition we work to ensure that people have the food they need to live healthy lives.  We use a comprehensive approach working to meet immediate needs, provide short term relief, and fight for lasting solutions.

Our work falls into four areas:

We Connect People With Food Resources

Kids enjoy a meal on the steps at a free summer meal site

We increase access to food resources by creating and distributing information to our clients and partners, through our SNAP Hotline, our Summer Meals Hotline and the Pantry Map and Summer Meals Maps that we host on our website. We work closely with our community partners across the region to ensure ease of access to the resources clients need.

We Strengthen Local Food Networks

Through our Victory in Partnership Network, we convene leaders who run community food programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and community fridges. We work to build a collaborative and effective Philadelphia anti-hunger network through hosting workshops, sharing information and resources, offering opportunities to network, and connecting them with funding and food for their programs.

We Increase Access to SNAP Benefits

We work to increase access to SNAP benefits through outreach and our SNAP Hotline. Our SNAP Hotline helps households navigate the SNAP application process, submits applications on their behalf, and advocates with County Assistance Offices to ensure all households receive the benefits they are eligible for.
