We launched the SNAP Hotline in 2002 to streamline the application process so that eligible households can apply for SNAP over the phone without going to a County Assistance Office.

Every year, the Coalition helps thousands of residents apply for SNAP through our SNAP Hotline. Residents of Bucks, Chester and Philadelphia counties can apply for SNAP benefits through our SNAP Hotline by calling 215-430-0556. Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Our experienced hotline counselors will go through the application step-by-step, provide information on what to expect and help clients gather the necessary documents needed for the application. Our SNAP counselors also help with renewing benefits.

There are two ways to get connected to our SNAP Hotline counselors.

  1. Call 215-430-0556 Monday-Thursday from 9am-5pm and on Friday from 9am-4pm, or leave a voicemail after hours.

  2. Fill out a form online and one of our counselors will call you back to determine if you qualify, help you complete the application over the phone, and answer any questions you may have.

  • We try our best to answer calls as they come in, but if you get an answering machine, clearly say your name and phone number. We return every call, typically within 48 business hours!

We know COMPASS can be extremely confusing, so we’ve created a guide to assist you through the process. Our guide includes step-by-step instructions, frequently asked questions, tips to navigate the application successfully, and a glossary of important terms and programs. We hope this guide makes the process of applying for benefits easier!
