The VIP (Victory in Partnership) Project

The Victory in Partnership (VIP) Project supports food pantries and soup kitchens in Philadelphia by:

  • Providing them with funding, equipment, training, technology and other resources
  • Networking them within their communities, so they can work together to fight hunger. Program managers meet monthly in their regions (North, Northwest, Northeast, West and Center City/South Philadephia) for trainings and discussions to help them better serve people in need.

Stroehmann Nourishing Neighbors Program
The Coalition administers funds to food pantries for food, equipment, transportation and other needs. Funding is provided by Stroehmann Bakeries, ACME Markets and Giant Food Stores.

Adopt-a-Pantry (Coming Summer 2010)
A new web portal will enable donors to locate a food pantry in their neighborhood and learn about its needs, such as food or kitchen equipment. Web visitors can then donate online to help meet that need.

A new volunteer match program will also allow Web visitors to search and sign up for volunteer opportunities at a food pantry or soup kitchen.

State Food Purchase Program PSA
In March 2010, VIP member pantry coordinators from the North region filmed the following public service announcement (PSA) to advocate for funding for Pennsylvania's State Food Purchase Program, which provides food to most food pantries in Philadelphia. Learn more.

The VIP Project is made possible by the William Penn Foundation and Stroehmann Nourishing Neighbors.
